  • Vacant Building, Roland (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Normally I hate it when people mark a 'vacant' location.....BUT.....whoever wrote this one is absolutely right about the former store, but they have a good sense of humor.

  • Discount Liquor, HyperPanzer (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Anualy voted best liquor store in the city, and for good reason this place sports a huge selection of Wines and Spirits. The top shelf stuff is available here. But most of all the beer!!!! They have to have literally over 1000 different varieties of that heavenly nector. Imports and domestics, microbrews and macrobrews, some singles, mostly in 6'ers, large selection in 12'ers, and even a killer selection of keggers, and all at the BEST PRICES!!!!

  • East Side Boat House, Karl (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
I lived there as a toddler, from 1944 to 1948 and have many fond memories of this odd, wonderful place. In the mid-90's, briefly visited; the owner graciously showed me around. I was amazed & amused at the difference in scale between my memorized childhood images and the adult perceptions of the place.
  • Sciortino's Italian Bakery, Roland (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Best sandwich rolls in the city!!
  • Brady Street, Roland (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
Not as open minded as you think. An old store called "Tie Me Down" was forced out of business by the Brady Street business collective. It didn't fit the image they are trying to force on us. The old "Tie Me Down" shop now houses a beeper/cellphone store. WOW...what an improvement. I do like most of what's on Brady Street though.

The powers that be at Alterra Inc. are wizzards at getting prime spots. This location is the prime example of this. Alterra is known for having locations with a unique flavor and character. How long before they go public and make the BIG money?
