Transferred comment from deleted tag: 13 months ago clippership +1 [good] [bad] [good] [bad] Good Coffee! and has a nice outdoor area for customers (free wireless, too). Can be kinda noisy when the Curtis Ambulances come screeching out of their garage down the street. Could use the loving hand of a gardener now that Spring is here!

  • Riverwest, Captain Kaos (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
Riverwest is known for poets, musicians, painters, writers, graphic artists, and other types of liberals. It is known as Milwaukee's Left Bank in reference to the west side of the Milwaukee River. While the most pleasant neighborhood to live in, it is not for the faint at heart. People with tatoos covering their entire faces, to blue collar factory guys, you never know who will pull up a bar stool next to you. This hood hosts two distinct festivals- Locust Street Days and Center Street Daze. Locust Street Days has a beer run (yes, you have to drink beer at each checkpoint and are timed.) Center Street Daze has a cart race using "art" carts. Both are odd and crazy but fun!

Great place! They open early as in 7 a.m. daily. Very friendly staff that always seems to remember both your name and what you drink. We enjoy their internet juke box and their large out door patio. They have a long happy hour from 3 pm to 8 pm where you get two for one drinks and free pizza as well, every Monday through Friday. People are always so friendly, I'd recommend this place.

  • Mitchell Yard office, kurtis (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
When I added this place, the yard office was still there. Since I added this place, the yard office was torn down, the gantry crane was moved to Jones Island, and the yard itself was turned into storage tracks. All the locals were moved to Butler and that is where the Marsh job and Cudahy job locomotives come from now everyday which doesn't make sense it's a longer trip from butler to milwaukee than milwaukee to milwaukee but o well, it's just another piece of railroad history gone.
