  • Champion's Pub, reiverpub wrote 14 years ago:
Champion's Pub is located at 2417 North Bartlett Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Champion's was established in 1956 by James Champion, Sr., grandfather of the current owner. Originally located on Murray Avenue in Milwaukee, it has flourished as a family business enterprise at its current location since 1970. Champion's enjoys a friendly relationship with the surrounding residents, and it's longstanding and loyal clientele. Champion's is a comfortable place in the neighborhood where neighbors, friends and newcomers alike gather to share a drink over conversation and/or watch the season's sporting events. It is unique in its family history and traditions (annual golf outing, annual cribbage tournament), its good service and its low key neighborhood atmosphere. It has successfully filled this niche for over 50 years.

  • Burnham Bridge, ericinmke wrote 14 years ago:
Freight trains of the Canadian Pacific Railway still travel over this bridge to reach Muskego Yard, which is located immediately west. In 2009, the railroad officially annulled the bridge's swing capability, and retired the signals protecting it.

  • Historic Third Ward, anonymous (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
because the space used to be cheap, artist venues started moving in, especially theaters (like the Cabot, Off Broadway, and Broadway Theater Center.) Where there's theatre space, upscale restaurants and bars follow. The Third Ward also has the Milwaukee Public Market, a european-style grocery store.
  • Former Beer Line, bmoede (guest) wrote 15 years ago:
There are still pieces of rail at grade crossings on N. Port Washington Road. Track is still in use at the extreme north west end of the line, near Lincoln Creek. The redevelopment neighborhood in the area of the roller coaster track is called the The Beer Line, even has name signs on the light poles.
