My boyfriend lives in a Yankee Hill townhouse. They are very nice but expensive, parking is limited and can be pricey when you get tickets if you don't pay for the underground spots. He called to have things looked at his place a couple of times. The ones dealing with appliances or a door issue were answered. He has a beehive outside of his door that he called about and there was an ant problem. They said they'd send someone to help but no one ever came. So a little faulty with getting back to you and maintenance but otherwise very nice. Surprisingly quiet since you're in the middle of the city!

Pricey store and the owner was rude to me whenever I went. However, if you ever want a really cool apartment, the apartments above it are really big, cheap, nice manager, and full of character!! I loved it there!

Stick with the local places that actually benefit the community (e.g. riverwest co-op, Outpost co-op)

They also used to serve poutine, but I noticed that it's missing from their menu now.

It's a great place to hang out and meet random people. Look for out for tall people cause they flock to the bar.

And they have a cool website! http://www.wihumane.org/animals/default.aspx And they take the time to ensure your pet is well socialized! NOTE - if you see an available cat or dog on the site, you should GO IMMEDIATELY before it's adopted. Pets seem to go pretty quickly when they make it to the site.

This is a beautiful Greco-Roman building that can now be viewed from one's car when traveling south on the Freeway! The Flickr photo below doesn't do it justice (no pun intended) www.flickr.com/photos/retinalfetish/558995267/ Compare it with what it used to look like (ugh) http://www.flickr.com/photos/retinalfetish/335971112/

Oh, there's plenty of free parking in the back although I wish they'd wash out the trash cans some more...

If you haven't lunched here, you're missing delightful "Medriatic Food" - the soup is always first rate and the main meals are well crafted. Il Mito means "the Myth." I think Medriatic means its focus is on Italy, the Balkans and Greece. It's all good!
